Join our artist trading card swap!

Ocean Sun by Lisa Fulmer

Make one and get one back!

Artist trading cards are fun to make, swap and collect.

You can use any foundation, surfaces, mediums, styles, materials, imagery, techniques...whatever you love to create with.

The only rule is that an ATC must be 2.5"x3.5" in size.

The theme for this ATC swap is texture.

Use some kind of textural element in your card - it could be a texture medium blended with paint, textured papers or fabrics, embossing, dimensional layers...just get creative and have fun!

The deadline to submit your ATC for this swap is July 2, 2013.

Here's how to participate:

  1. Make one ATC that reflects your take on the theme. Sign the back with your full name (legibly) and date. Feel free to add your blog or website address too.
  2. Wrap your ATC so it's protected and place it in a mailing envelope with your return address legible.
  3. Mail your ATC to arrive before the deadline to me, your swap host:  Lisa Liza Lou, PO Box 56, Concord CA 94522.  I will keep all of your mailing addresses private.
  4. Include additional stamps (US only) inside the envelope in the same amount as it cost to mail your ATC to me. This will cover the cost of sending your ATC on to another participant. Do not enclose cash or check. I will provide return envelopes.
  5. International participants - do not include stamps (the US post office won't process outbound mail with int'l postage). Instead, include your PayPal email with your ATC and I will send you a money request to reimburse me for the postage to forward your ATC.
  6. I will photograph each ATC before randomly swapping them with each other and mailing one back out to each participant. The photos and participants' names (linked if you provide your blog/site URL) will be posted on the Charity Wings blog.
  7. Participants can opt to make two ATCs and get two back. I will swap and mail out by July 6, 2013.

Leave a comment on this post if you plan to participate! Feel free to post any questions as well, and we will reply to you here on the blog.

We’re very appreciative to everyone who came out to take part in this event.  We were even joined by the girls from the Vista Scholarship Pageant who worked hard on our Oklahoma mural.

A special thank you to the San Marcos Arts Council for providing all the art materials for the mural marathon.

National Scrapbook Day 2013 Recap

nsdcrop

What do you get when you mix the Charity Wings Art Center with a Robin’s Nest 15th anniversary celebration and a National Scrapbook Day crop?   FUN FUN FUN!  Even better than that we raised money for the amazing organization, TERi Inc., whose mission is to change the way the world sees people with autism and other developmental disabilities.

Croppers joined us in Oceanside, CA for this crop AND we did a LIVE STREAM of  the event with challenges, demos, make n takes,  and fun giveaways!  You can see the recording of the livestream here.

rockinredrobinCheck out one of the super make n take demos we did during this event above!  Isn’t this wall hanging from West Coast Stamper/Rockin’ Red Robin lovely?

We so appreciate the support all of you have given us for this and other events!  We could never do this without all of you behind us.  This note from Greg of TERi Inc. touched us deeply and we wanted to share it with all of you because YOU are such an important part of our team!

Elena and the Charity Wings Team,

I cannot express the appreciation I have for your generosity of time and spirit! That you would pull together a group of caring individuals to selflessly give to our organization is a remarkable statement of what Charity Wings is all about…giving to those who are less fortunate. The fact that everyone seem to enjoy the event and appreciate the spirit in which they were brought together is further evidence of the innate goodness of your group.
