A Tea Cart from Jackie Adkins

I met Elena about three years ago at a scrapbook retreat where she hosted a silent auction. I was already aware of Scrapbook Royalty/Charity Wings and have been following online ever since. I think it's such a unique idea to blend crafts and charity. The chance to "sample" various organizations is a good idea, then if you want to (I did) you can do more for a particular charity if you want.

I joined Club TLC last January with the idea in mind that I want to meet creative people and get my own creative juices flowing. I enjoy the donation/volunteer ideas and the chance to participate in CHA and other events like the tent party from home.

Recently Elena needed someone to pick up a tea cart that turned out not to be too far from me so I was happy to help out. I also painted it which was a fun project and I hope the cart gets used a lot in Fairy Fly-bys and more!

CRAFTED with Jennifer Priest

Our fabulous friend Jennifer Priest has a booth at CRAFTED in Los Angeles this weekend and she has made us an amazing offer!  She will donate 10% of all sales this weekend to Charity Wings AND if you tell her that you heard about CRAFTED from Charity Wings, she will donate 100% of your purchase to us!  That’s right – the whole shebang!  Fantastic!!!

CRAFTED, a wonderful addition to the Southern California handmade movement,  takes place at the port of Los Angeles next to a picturesque marina and mere steps from the Pacific Ocean.  The plan is to grow this event into the world’s largest year-round indoor craft marketplace.  Artisanal food makers and craft designers and artists participate together in a series of market stalls along with live music and daily demonstrations.  Phase One of CRAFTED begins on June 29th at 10:30 am with coffee and a ribbon cutting and concludes at 7:00 pm on July 1st. Check out the CRAFTED website for more information:  http://craftedportla.com/
Check out more of Jennifer's creations at http://www.hydrangeahippo.com/

In order to take advantage of Jennifer’s generous offer, you must make your purchases on June 29th-30th and you must let her know that you heard about CRAFTED here, from Charity Wings in order to have 100% of your purchase price donated to us!

Second Quarter Raffle: Three Chances to Win and Raise Money for Soldiers' Angels

Be sure to get your raffle tickets NOW for the chance to win 1 of 3 amazing prizes and help to raise money for Soldiers' Angels.

"Soldiers' Angels is a volunteer-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing aid and comfort to the men and women of the United States Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and their families. Founded in 2003 by the mother of two American soldiers, its hundreds of thousands of Angel volunteers assist veterans, wounded and deployed personnel and their families in a variety of unique and effective ways.  "May No Soldier Go Unloved," encapsulates the motivation behind Soldiers' Angels.   The volunteers of Soldiers' Angels work tirelessly to demonstrate active care and concern for veterans, the wounded, deployed service members and their families through care packages, letters, care and comfort, emergency aid, and more." (from the Soldiers' Angels website)

For just $5, you get 3 tickets - that means three chances to win one of these fantastic prizes:

Danita is a self-taught mixed media artist and makes primitive folk art paintings, art dolls, and jewelry.   She is a self-described dreamer and maker of things who says that pretty much all of her time is spent either creating or thinking about creating.  Danita says: "When I create, I travel to a world where everything is possible, dreams come true, animals are your friends and you can fly on top of a paper bird, just because you want to. It keeps me sane in a crazy world that spins faster that my head can, it keeps me away from the ugly, the bad and the things I can't understand. This peaceful wonderland is dying to escape into our reality, and it does it through my art, dying to show us that all we need is love. Every time you look at my paintings, you leave a comment or you take one home, you share a piece of that dreamworld with me. And I thank you for it, deeply, from the bottom of my heart. Because you let me know that a dreamer can dream, and that my dream is not that crazy after all."

You have the chance to win A 5 week online course, Mixed Media From the Heart with Danita.  From her site:  "More than just a painting class, I will show you the mixed media techniques I use on my paintings to journey through my process for creating mixed media art as an outlet for my dreams, my worries, and my imagination to create art with a personal and distinctive style that you will love to call your own."  Class begins June 25th.
